Nature and wildlife photographer. Will travel.
Greetings. Thanks for visiting.
The best thing about photographing nature is simply that you get to be there to see it. Out in the real world away from the crowds and the man made world. Working at the fringes of the day gives me great satisfaction. I love it.
I first picked up a camera in 1974. A Minolta SR-T 102. I dove in to photography with a passion. I "rolled my own" b&w film from 100 foot rolls into re-usable canisters, developed and printed my own photographs in the bathroom, and took photos of everything--all the time. The advent of digital photography has allowed me to pursue photography in a way that was not possible with film. Faster speeds, auto focus, and fantastic lenses translate to images that were not possible just a few years ago.
I was fortunate to grow up in the Pacific Northwest and spent much of my time hiking and backpacking in the mountains. I was able to combine my love of the outdoors and photography in one of the most picturesque parts of the United States.
Now I try to combine my passion for photography with my passion for boating as much as possible. The British Columbia coast and Puget Sound are wonderful places for photography.
